I go online, and all I see is news talking up the fact that the economy is tanking, and about how many died today. I sift through all of that junk, looking for the positive signs, which there are very few. The reason there are few is that the wealthy want you to stay down. They need you to stay down and believe things will never get better. How else do they remain important?
I'm here to tell you we will recover. When you ignore the ugly and focus on the positive, the world around you becomes stronger. In my forty-six years in this body, I've seen some incredible things. I want to remind you; you have what it takes inside to see through all of this negativity in the news and the world. You can see right to the end of this terrible virus. You know, deep inside, everything will recover. You know that we, as people will thrive once more. You know that if you focus on the positive around you, like family and friends, time will go by easier.
It doesn't matter whether you live alone on lockdown or you are living in a 500-square foot apartment with a family of five. The key to your long-term success is in being a leader. That takes staying positive when things are at their worst. Remember, it is the bad times that make the good ones feel so damn good.
I usually don't do this when I write, but I am going to today. I have a project for you. I want you to go to your favorite news source. If you don't have one, find one. Count all of the negative stories they offer up. Then, sift through the junk and find that one, like the 100-year-old woman who lived through the coronavirus. Once you locate an excellent story, search for another and another.
Stop feeding yourself negativity and start feeding your brain good old-fashioned positivity. You will be surprised what it will do to your outlook. Once you get your head straight, take a look at your business.
Look for the positive and Ignore the Negative. It doesn't matter if you own a restaurant, and you closed your doors. It doesn't matter if you may not be able to open those doors again. Do whatever it takes to clear a positive path forward towards a better future. Either get those doors back open or dream up your next money-making game. Those who stay positive during the worst of times always come out the other side stronger and smarter than before. This is what success takes and what she demands of you. If you want to roll with the big boys and girls, roll up your sleeves, get your mind right, and get to it.
I'll end with a quote from one of my favorite movies: "Are you behind on your credit card bills? Good. Pick up the phone and start dialing. Is the landlord ready to evict you? Good. Pick up the phone and start dialing. Does your girlfriend think you're a worthless F'n loser? Good. Pick up the phone and start dialing. I want you to deal with your problems...by becoming rich!"
